Siena Hotel Wedding Reception
The Siena Hotel, in Chapel Hill, is one of my favorite venues for a wedding reception. I was fortunate enough to create lovely images for Holly and Lance at the Siena Hotel wedding reception recently.
After an intimate family ceremony at the Blacknall Presbyterian Church, in Durham, our newly wedded couple had scheduled some time for some wedding portraits in Duke Gardens before attending to the reception at the Siena Hotel wedding reception. What splendid private time for a professional couple who both work in the Hospital at Duke.
It is customary for me in our first meeting to suggest to young couples to allow for some time after formal family portraits to be by themselves to catch their breath after their ceremony to enjoy one another before announcing themselves as a couple at their reception. This makes for a more enjoyable wedding day as the couple gets time to enjoy one another and take their day in more fully! I know Holly and Lance will find a way to return to Duke Gardens now with a picnic in hand to keep that sparkle alive remembering the joy and thrill of being united that first hour after their wedding. Make for fabulous heirloom images too, don’t you think?
Time to get settled at the Siena Hotel and be announced to all of their guests from all over the world! The Siena Hotel has been recently renovated by new ownership and is an absolute joy to photograph in now with a new wall of windows and elegant setting. This place has always been First Class, and the tradition continues with new interior decorating and an ever helpful staff who make each guest feel like they Kings and Queens in a romantic and an old world feeling location.
What a gathering of internationally highly educated people making a real difference in this world! Truly my pleasure to work with Holly and Lance’s family and guests. This is my favorite part of creating life long images; meeting such intriguing and special people who love one another.
Holly’s mom hired the most wondeful Florist who created amazing centerpieces! I have to admit the flowers are one of my favorite details at every elegant affair such as this. These had to be the finest centerpieces I have seen in several years…they enhanced this lovely new room even more and each guest had no difficulty at all conversing across the tables.
Traditional (money?) dance and new dress for this happy couple…good fun and great colors!
Both moms were quite the dancing queens this night celebrating fully!
It is is impossible to resist creating an image of others taking their pictures…so much fun and love in this room this night.
I had no idea that this night would be so rich with color and full of so much togetherness and love. What better way to end it all with a sparkler departure!
What a great honor to create images at such a festive occasion. It was a great opportunity to meet many new and interesting folks who do amazing work. And for this couple I know this is just the beginning !
