Family Portrait Duke Gardens Durham NC
One of my favorite locations for a Family Portrait is Duke Gardens because it is lovely year round and there is always something blooming there, even in the winter! I love to photograph weddings, engagement portraits and bridal sessions there as well. I can always find the perfect background and light to create a lasting heirloom portrait for one of my clients!
Kat and her family wanted to gift her parents an everlasting present they would love forever. What better gift than a family portrait?
Kat and I initially had a phone chat so I could get a better feel for her family, their preferences and any limits we might need to consider. Next, I invited Kat to my studio to view family portraits and show her some our before/after portraits to share what value a professional photographer can offer a discerning family. We further discussed locations and more of what she thought her parents might like to display in their home. Pictures of their whole family together with their beloved grand children and children/in-laws was what she believed they most desired.
So we lined up a date to coincide with Kat’s out of town brother’s visit. GREAT!
Great timing too! Spring is always a winner at Duke Gardens. Everything was in full bloom so we met quite early one morning (before the masses of visitors took up all of the remaining parking spots). We dashed in, strolled a part of the gardens, captured some individual sets of family images, each grand child and of course several images of the entire family in different spots throughout the gardens. It was a great time together. I love working with families!
After I returned from vacation I invited Kat back and we viewed the best images of our time together. This helped us so we could further “edit” the number of final proofs for her parent’s return viewing after their vacation.
